Announcing The New & Improved Rolex Reference Page at LuxuryTyme!
Oct 30
Welcome to the new and hopefully improved Rolex Reference Page at LuxuryTyme.com. The Rolex Reference Page (formerly at www.rolexreferencepage.com) has been through many changes recently, so let me bring you up to speed. In the late Summer of 2010, I was contacted by the legal firm which Rolex uses in the US, and told I needed to hand over the domain name rolexreferencepage.com, and make cosmetic changes to my website. I was understandably dismayed by receiving the legal correspondence, as rolexreferencepage.com had been online for over six years, and I enjoyed an excellent relationship with Rolex both in the US and in Switzerland. In fact, when I contacted Rolex USA, they weren’t even aware that such action had been taken by Rolex’s legal firm. Many questions came to mind as to why Rolex chose to take this course of action and when they chose to do it (and many remain), but I worked closely with them to comply with their requests out of my passion for the brand, and my wanting to maintain my excellent relationship with Rolex. So the URL for The Rolex Reference Page has changed to www.luxurytyme.com, but the site remains the single best resource for information about Rolex and the watches they make – that much hasn’t changed, nor will it every….I hope.
Since I have to make a number of changes to satisfy Rolex, I’ve decided to take this opportunity to do a radical redesign and clean up of the site, and will be porting over the content to the WordPress platform. I’ve gained a great deal of affinity for WordPress, having designed my photography site ThruMyLens on the WordPress platform, and successfully converted THE SEAMASTER REFERENCE PAGE over to WordPress earlier this Summer. This is going to be a very long process because I plan to really improve upon the photos in the various articles on this site, and in some cases may even re-shoot photos. I’ve grown greatly as a photographer over the past six years, and I want the articles here on The Rolex Reference Page to be the very best they can be. So it may well be very late 2010 or early 2011 before all the work is complete. During this time, the HTML and WordPress versions of The Rolex Reference Page will remain online – I’ll take down the HTML version once the WordPress site is complete.
If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions during this transition time (pardon our dust) feel free to drop me a line at john@watchtalkforums.info
In the interim, please to swing by The Rolex Discussion Forum located at WATCH TALK FORUMS for the very best, and friendliest online discussion forum for Rolex watch enthusiasts.

Hi I’ve always enjoyed your travel articles, will that section be making It to your new site?
Actually, I moved my travel articles to the Travel section of my more photography focused site http://www.thrumylens.org – I’m making a lot of progress in getting my articles going back to 2005 transitioned. Check it out! I think they look much better.
