The kind folks at Mondani Press recently sent me a review copy of their newest book publication entitled ROLEX GALLERY.

ROLEX GALLERY is a very different product from previous Mondani books I’ve read, and seems to be aimed at a slightly different audience.  Instead of the usual, exhaustive tome we’re used to seeing from Mondani, ROLEX GALLERY is more of a pictorial survey of various Rolex model categories.  Page count comes in at 224, with a price point of € 140 – about half (or less) than previous Mondani editions.  Where previous books Mondani has published seem geared toward the rabid, devoted Rolex collector and enthusiast, this book appears to be much more geared toward the casual fan.

ROLEX GALLERY is divided into chapter sections which are devoted to the various Rolex models:

Each section has an introductory page with some very basic information and history on the model category – only a paragraph or two.  It’s informative, but certainly not information overload which would alienate the casual Rolex owner or fan.  Because there’s less text based information, more translations can be printed in this single volume – every section is written in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish:

What hasn’t changed in ROLEX GALLERY are the sumptuous photographs of absolutely amazing examples from Rolex production history – watches most people will never have the opportunity to see without a book like this:

Even though the format is compressed, each of the sections is quite thorough and complete in the pictorial surveys of each model, including contemporary models right up to and including models introduced at Baselworld 2010:

Mondani has been criticized in the past for price point of their products (which is understandable given the production quality and the size of their niche market) – ROLEX GALLERY provides a useful and entertaining resource at a fraction of the price of their previous volumes.  You can purchase ROLEX GALLERY from the publisher by clicking here.
